Customer Intelligence Gathering Event Summary - 7 Characteristics of Successful Customer Intelligence

At a gathering we hosted last night (3/4/10) in midtown Manhattan, I met with a group of marketing and data professionals and we discussed the characteristics of successful Customer Intelligence. With industries represented ranging from real estate to financial services to retail, we got a pretty good sense of what makes (or breaks!) efforts to gather and use customer information in an effective way across the entire organization so that there is a positive bottom-line impact.

Here are 7 characteristics we came up with – 7 important requirements for successfully creating and leveraging Customer Intelligence across an organization to drive significant bottom-line growth and provide increased value both for the customer and the organization serving that customer.
